Omega's first rise in consumption tax began to affect high-end watches

After nearly a month of watching, the impact of the new consumption tax on high-end watches began to surface. On May 1st, the Omega watch increased its overall price by 4%-4.5%. Another high-end watch brand, Jun King, also has 1/4-1/3 watches on the same day, rising prices, or around 5%.

A watch retailer said that currently Omega's first price adjustment in the Chinese market has a certain experimental effect. Next, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Tudor, Movado and other brands may also have increased prices, or about 5% -10%.

It is understood that high-end watches will have a price increase once a year, up 5% is also a very common thing, but because other luxury goods prices have been loudly argued, so the higher prices of luxury watches bring greater psychological impact to consumers some.

According to an insider analysis, the new consumption tax mainly affects the sales of around 20,000 yuan. Because this part of people's consumption is more casual, it will directly feel the impact of price increases. The consumer groups with a unit price of more than 100,000 yuan have certain spending power. They have a high degree of loyalty to the brand and do not particularly care about price fluctuations. Therefore, the sales impact is not very obvious.
